2009 Songs of the Year

The Mattias family has chosen their top four 2009 songs of the year. We just don't listen to enough new music to choose 10. We are lucky to be able to select four (and two of them are cover songs from a TV show that Marin really enjoys). Here are our top four songs:

#4 Don't Stop Believing - Glee Soundtrack

#3 Come Play At Our House - The Not-It's

#2 Defying Gravity - Glee Soundtrack

#1 We Sing In Time - The Lonely Forest

Our goal for 2010 will be to at least have 5 favorite songs to share. We might just have to find and post them as we go because we won't remember them at the end of the year.

Silly Time

I'm on a blogging (or should I say picture sharing) roll. A while back, Kevin took these photos of the kids on a silly, weekend morning when I was working. Some very funny faces/poses.

Good thing Keenan's such a good sport

Molly, just you wait until Keenan's bigger. . . :)

Christmas Card Photo

This Christmas it seemed like everything was done "late." From getting the tree and decorating the house, to shopping, and to picking out christmas cards and sending them. I wasn't going to include a picture, but decided to, of course, last minute. We had 2 "photo sessions" and you would think with all the pictures I took, there would have been one "keeper." Well, there wasn't. A lot of fun ones though which I got a kick out of. The ones with the kids laughing have Kevin standing right behind me trying to make them smile. For those who didn't get a card and picture (sorry!), can you guess which picture we went with? And for those who did, which other one would you have chosen???

Santa Wishes

Reading my sister's blog tonight, I was inspired to post a few "Santa" pictures of our own. Santa came to visit our church christmas party a couple weeks ago and, of course, all the kids lined up in a long line in order to sit on his lap and make their christmas wishes. Molly asked for some clay (which, by the way, santa "missed" bringing, but fortunately Molly did not remember :(). And Keenan asked for a bag of candy that was sitting next to Santa on a table. His wish was immediately granted :)

We had a very merry christmas which I will post about at another time, but I wanted to say "Thank You!!" for all the cards and christmas gifts from all our kind friends and family.

A Day at the Mountain

Kevin wanted me to post these photos right away because it was the absolute most beautiful day on Mt. Hood. Fresh snow then bright sunshine, warm enough for Kevin and I to not wear our shells. Sunglasses were remembered at the last minute, but not the sunscreen :(. Fortunately, nobody got burned. It was probably the best family winter outing we have ever had because nobody got soaked in the rain/snow, meaning-- nobody got cold and whined and cried to go home after only being out in the weather for 10 minutes.

Queen of the Mt.:)

The result of letting Molly and Keenan go together down the hill

We left the Mt. around 2:00, perfect timing because there was getting to be quite a crowd of people. We stopped at Calamity Jane's on the way home (Joe's donuts on the way up), a restaurant we have driven by dozens of times, heard good things about, but never have eaten at (until today). They have DELICIOUS hamburgers and fries, food we always crave after an active day on the mountain. Sitting by a warm fireplace was also a delight. It was just a perfect day all around.
